The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the family.

This means them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Audiences can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
